This kit contains everything that YOU need to get started with Lino Printing.

I've found a great deal of mental health healing, peace and recovery through exploring different art forms. It's one of the main reasons that I chose to start my own business.

Finding and learning a new craft always helps me build my self confidence and I'd love to share that with you.

How to use this kit:

The kit comes with a 120 page magazine that will help you learn to make your own Lino Print designs. The magazine (some have called it a book) also contains designs you can copy or trace, inspiration, techniques to try and helpful advice to follow along the way.

For those of you who are curious, the magazine contains a traceable image of the butterfly that appears on the front of the box.

• 25 sheets of A4 premium cartridge paper (for your final prints - good enough quality to gift or sell)
• Roller (also known as a Brayer) 100mm
• Essdee Block Printing ink in black (100ml)
• Essdee Block Printing ink in red (100ml)
• 10x Essdee Lino cutting tools with handle
• 3 sheets of easy cut Linoleum
• 1 sheet of acetate

What is Lino Printing?

Lino Printing is a print making technique that has been used for over a century to create repeat prints of unique designs.

A print is made by carving your design into a block or sheet of Linoleum, rolling ink over the surface of the carved design, laying paper (or fabric) on top of the block and then applying pressure.

The ink adheres to only the raised parts of your design, which means the finished print is the reverse image of your engraving.

While it sounds simple (and can be), it has a lot of scope for experimentation with carving, design, experimentation with ink and combining with different art forms for larger projects.

Multiple designs and colours can be layered on top of each other to create truly unique works of art.

A truly beautiful and freeing creative process that artists will love to have a bash at.

Will I need anything else to use this kit?

This package really does contain what you need to get started but a couple of additional items might enhance your experience. Some scrap paper that you can experiment on without using up the premium paper will be helpful and some tracing paper might help you copy designs in a way that makes the process easier.

The only thing that's really necessary though is you and your wonderful brain having a go at something new and seeing where it takes you.
